SCRAPBOOKING: WALNUT INK CRYSTALS - make your own ink

HOMEMADE WALNUT INK
Great stuff for antiquing your pieces....walnut ink crystals to make your own brown color wash are a wonderul thing as they easily can be shipped because they are dry and also super lightweight so shipping is very cheap.
This is a fun new product to use in scrapbooking, altered books and other paper arts. It gives an aged sepia look to your project and can also be used to dye or distress fabric and wood. Let dry and your piece looks like it is a hundred years old.
Generally dissolve 1/2 teaspoon of crystals in a cup of very warm (not boiling) water, let sit for 10 minutes and ready to go!
I put my solution in either a little mister bottle or keep some in a lidded small container. A little bit goes a long way and you will find that the smallest amount will suffice for a long time. You can vary the concentration depending on the your desired effect from dark to light.
If you keep the ready made solution airtight it will last for months.
