A previous "guide" said that all Waterford crystal produced after 1947 bears their etched marking. I have bought MANY pieces in the last 20 years and several have no markings. I had them verified and they are Waterford. So, if you know for sure it's Waterford, don't be put off by the absence of an etched Waterford mark.
Unless, of course, the local stores have been selling REALLY OLD merchandise...
