Affordable and plentifulHOF Rookie cards
Interesting and attractive designs
Increased pop culture interest in the 1970's

1976 Topps
The 1976 Topps set is one of the most under-rated sets ever produced by Topps. With regard to design, the 1976 set has a lot in gemon with the 1973 and 1974 sets in terms of simplicity. In terms of color scheme the 1976 set shares a lot in gemon with the 1972 and 1975 sets. Throw in improved action photography (see Yastrzemski card above for a good example) and you have one of the best designed sets of trading cards ever produced. The 1976 set has never been a favorite of collectors, however the popularity of the set has improved over the last two years. Below is a list of key cards from the set.

1977 Topps
A wellconceived set that takes the design elements from the popular 1971 set --this time with a conservative white border, modernized fonts and a position banner that looks like it came froma 1960s issue. The set features sharp photography and good use of color, however it is printed on a cheaper paper stock than previous issues and quality control with regard to packaging and centering was poor for this issue. Eventually this set will increase in value because of its somewhat unrealized condition sensitivity making the 1977 Topps set a fantastic investment! Below are the key cards from the set.

#473 Andre Dawson RC NM Book $20-COLD
